Sue Brophy from Wibsey ended up winning a makeover on a recent shopping trip.
Sue was selected from thousands of shoppers for beauty treatments by a team of stylists when she visited York.
The event, organised by tourism organisation Visit York, is part of its Shop and the City campaign.
Sue was given a style assessment with a fashion stylist and make-up artists at Fenwick and was given a new hair style and beauty treatment at 3D Hair and Beauty on the Shambles.
“I was shopping with my daughter Chloe and spent the day with a team of experts styling me,” said Sue.
“It gave me the opportunity to try new things and create a new different look, which I love.”
Gillian Cruddas, chief executive for Visit York, said: “We came up with the idea of rewarding five lucky shoppers with a Gok Wan-style makeover, as York offers such a diverse range of shops.”
