Rio Ferdinand on crutches in South Africa
Rio Ferdinand is out of the World Cup before a ball has been kicked in anger.
The 31-year-old England skipper suffered the injury in training this lunchtime and left a local hospital on crutches.
His replacement is Tottenham's Michael Dawson who has already flown out to join the squad in South Africa.
