A personal assistant at the University of Bradford is to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Lizzie Rhodes, 34, of Allerton, hopes to raise £1,000 for the charity when she climbs the mountain in Tanzania, Africa, in August.
She will hold a fundraising event at Bolton Villas United Reformed Church, Wrose, on Saturday, May 15, from 10am to 2pm.
She said: “I have wanted to climb the mountain for quite a long time. When I saw the celebrities do it last year for Comic Relief it gave me the extra spur to get it booked and start training.
“This is the first trek like this I have done. I’m very excited and a bit nervous, but I have got a few months to get in shape.
“I have a target of £1,000 – anything over that would be a bonus. I thought the Yorkshire Air Ambulance was a good charity to do it for.
