Reggie Earnshaw was 14 years and 152 days old when he died under enemy fire aboard the SS North Devon in 1941.
He lied about his age in order to join the Merchant Navy as a cabin boy.
His remains were laid to rest in an unmarked grave in Edinburgh but recently this was rectified and a grave stone is now in place.
His sister, Pauline Harvey, aged 77, was at the dedication ceremony. The previous youngest known service victim was seaman Raymond Steed, aged 14 years and 207 days.
