An award-winning international trade adviser says the secret to her success is putting 150 per cent into her work.

Gill Greaves, 48, who lives in Gomersal and works at the Batley Business and Technology Centre, was named Best International Trade Adviser at the Passport to Export awards.

Civil servant Mrs Greaves, who works for UK Trade and Investment and is in the second year of a three-year secondment at West Yorkshire Business Link, beat 29 other advisers from Yorkshire and the Humber.

The mother of two has been part of the international team for ten years.

She plays a vital role in encouraging and implementing export for the region's businesses by offering information and advice.

"I had a recent success when a company I worked with for over 15 months raised its export sales to £1 million," she said.

She also worked hard in promoting the Passport to Export scheme, providing training, planning and support for new and inexperienced exporters.

"I work very hard. It's quite a busy job but it's great and really interesting," she said.
