Brian Noble backed the decision to go ahead with last night's Super League game as the Bulls defeated Wigan at a fog-bound Odsal.

The champions ran out easy 34-12 winners but the majority of fans could not see the action as a deep mist shrouded their ground.

During the second half, as conditions got markedly worse, some even thought the game would be abandoned.

But the match commissioner and referee Ronnie Laughton believed the contest should continue and so seven-try Bradford picked up a win that sees them return to second spot.

Noble said: "It was fine for the

players. They could see. If you stood in the middle you could see the whole field and all four corners.

"I think people at the top of the

stadium might have had a bit of difficulty."

However, when asked what he thought of his side's performance, Noble laughed: "When the ball went to the other side, I wouldn't have a clue!"

He continued: "It was competent. I thought the officials did completely the right thing and I back them up

on that. As a game of football, it's essential we don't get backlogs.

"Both teams put on a manful display. I just think we were a bit too big and strong for them."

Ben Harris, Shontayne Hape, Andy Lynch, Marcus Bai, Lesley Vainikolo, Chris McKenna and Karl Pryce shared out tries as the Bulls quickly bounced back from the defeat at St Helens a week earlier.

The victory meant crisis club Wigan slumped to the foot of the table for the first time in more than 100 years.

Their under-fire boss Ian Millward had a different view on whether the fixture should have been contested.

"I thought it was really tough on the fans," said the Aussie. "I think the League should give the money back to them.

"I could only see about 40 metres in front and it was even worse on the touchline."

Asked how he rated debutant Tim Jonkers' display, he retorted: "To be honest, Timmy was on the far side. I couldn't see anything.

"If you'd said to me Timmy's raced up the stand and is sitting up there eating a hotdog, I wouldn't have a clue."

Meanwhile, Paul Deacon is rated 70/30 to be fit for the Bulls' Powergen Challenge Cup tie against Hull FC at Odsal next Saturday.

Their opponents were walloped 46-0 at home by Saints last night.
