THE future of the former Little Chef restaurant at Manor Park bends has still not been resolved despite the building being acquired by a local businessman.
The buyer, who is said to own other restaurants in the county, has not made up his mind whether or not to set up a new business at the site, to sell it or to rent it out.
A spokesman for the Leeds-based estate agent Christie and Co, which handled the sale, would not reveal the identity of the mystery businessman nor how much he paid for the site.
The former restaurant has now been closed for almost 18 months. The closure, because the restaurant was not making an acceptable profit, brought to an end 23 years of trading on the site.
The site is thought to be worth around £700,000 and would attract a rent for a business of around £40,000-a-year.
Because it is in the green belt the site would be very unlikely to end up a housing but another form of business, such as a retail development or office complex could be located there.
