A 10-0 home victory for Embassy 'A' against Ukrainian 'B' gives the Bingley team an eight point advantage with a game in hand over nearest rivals Ukrainian 'A' at the top of the Keighley & District Table Tennis League Division One. Carl White was pushed hard in the first by Peter Holbrook, finally getting the better of the Ukrainian player 11-7, 11-13, 11-6, 9-11, 11-7. However, after this it was plain sailing for Embassy with Gareth Wiles defeating Paul Beck 11-2, 11-6, 12-10 in his full house and Peter Kirby seeing off Jerry Harkawy 11-6, 11-8, 11-8 in his. Embassy 'A' to be Champions for the second season running? Don't bet against it!

Elsewhere in Division One, Lothersdale 'A' baulked Ukrainian 'A's push for the top with a good performance that saw Richard Crookes, in for Bob Davies, helping himself to a couple for Lothersdale, 11-9, 6-11, 11-3, 9-11, 11-4 against Andrea Harrison and 11-5, 11-7, 11-7 against Alan Balmforth. Keith Wilkinson and David Adams did the business against the same players before teaming up in the doubles to finish the scoring for Lothersdale with a good 11-3, 6-11, 11-5, 11-7 victory against Keith Lee and Harrison. For Ukrainians, Lee was spot on with his treble, that included the defeat of Adams 11-7, 11-6, 11-5, being the sum of his team's points in a 7-3 loss.

In Division Two, Richard Crookes, fresh from his top class performance with the 'A' team, rejoined his 'C' team colleagues Andrew Lambe and Martin Mulligan to inflict serious damage on hosts Cononley Sports. It all started so well for Cononley as Michael Mitchell got the better of Crookes 12-14, 11-5, 11-3, 11-5, but between that point and the doubles when Mitchell and Paul Lister added the only other point to Cononley's score with a win against Crookes and Mulligan, it was a total disaster for the home team. Lambe's treble included the defeat of Stuart Maude 11-2, 11-5, 11-4 and Mulligan's three saw him get the better of Lister 11-4, 5-11, 7-11, 12-10, 12-10 to give Lothersdale a two point advantage at the top of the table.

In Division Three, Wilsden visited Skipton and produced their best display of the season to date. Adam Broadbent was outstanding with his undefeated evening containing a win against Calum Davies 11-7, 9-11, 13-11, 11-7. Brother Luke added a couple against Graeme Davies 11-7, 11-5, 8-11, 11-9 and Harry Davies and Dave Broadbent put another couple on the card with wins against Graeme 14-16, 11-9, 12-10, 9-11, 11-9 and Calum. The 8-2 win for Wilsden was completed in the doubles where Adam and Luke combined to edge out Graeme and Calum 11-5, 11-13, 11-3, 10-12, 14-12. For Skipton, Calum defeated Luke 11-9, 11-9, 11-6 and Harry got the better of Dave 10-12, 11-8, 11-5, 8-11, 11-7.

Later in the week, Skipton redeemed themselves with a good away win at Johnson & Johnson. On this occasion, Calum Davies was star man with a treble that included the defeat of John Pullen 4-11, 11-7, 4-11, 13-11, 12-10 as Skipton registered an 8-2 victory. Unsurprisingly, the points for the Gargrave team both came from Pullen who got the better of both Harry and Graeme Davies.

In Division Four, Haworth Hawks 'A' showed their title-seeking qualities with a good 7-3 home win against plucky Crossflatts 'B'. Nathan Carr was outstanding for Haworth with his max containing the defeat of Crossflatts' big hitter Ryan Foulds 9-11, 4-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-7. Andy Bray added a couple more with defeats of James Marshall 11-6, 9-11, 9-11, 11-5, 11-2 and John Patrick. A Steve Cole success against Patrick and a doubles triumph for Bray and Carr 12-10, 8-11, 11-8, 8-11, 11-6 against Foulds and Marshall wrapped it up for the Hawks.

Elsewhere in Division Four, South Craven had Chris Farnworth to thank for staving off defeat at home to Denholme. The defiant South Craven star pulled out all the stops to get the better of Dave Ellis 8-11, 6-11, 11-6, 11-5, 11-6; Paul Whittaker 11-8, 6-11, 9-11, 11-9, 14-12 and Mike Teale 7-11, 11-4, 8-11, 11-4, 11-7. For Denholme, Ellis was top man with a couple against Matthew Wiggan 11-8, 11-6, 11-9 and Luke Binns 9-11, 11-9, 11-6, 12-10 in the 5 all draw.
