Thackley will be pushing for their ninth league win on the bounce tomorrow when Pickering Town visit Dennyfield but it is a game head coach John Boyle says is their most difficult in that run.

"No doubt about it, Pickering are one of the best in the league," said Boyle.

"They beat us comfortably in the reverse fixture but over the last three years our record against them is quite good. We are hoping that will extend tomorrow but we will need to be at our very best.

"We could have Dean Walters back in the final 14. He is in the squad and he could be ready. He has been training with the players for a while because it was a broken wrist, so his fitness shouldn't be a problem."

While Thackley are on a roll, Eccleshill United's form has slumped dreadfully but their manager saw enough spirit in last week's 3-2 defeat at Sheffield to suggest a corner is being turned.

"That was the best we have played for a long time and I felt we were unlucky not to get something out of the game," said Ray Price.

"We hit the bar in the last minute and loads of players piled in but we couldn't force the ball over the line. It wasn't to be our day but I gave the lads a bit of praise after the game because they had done well."

Price names an unchanged squad to give his new-look side a chance to bed in and prove themselves.

Liversedge, second in the table for so long, could drop down to third if they lose to Eccleshill's conquerors Sheffield at Clayborn tomorrow.

"There is one point in it at the moment so it is a big game for us but even if the worst happens we would still have four games in hand on them," said Sedge manager Eugene Lacy.

Liam Brompton will be making his debut having signed from Bradford Park Avenue this week.
