Just one point from the last available nine has dropped Guiseley into mid-table in the UniBond Premier Division but they will be boosted for the home game against Witton Albion tomorrow.

Influential skipper Jeremy Illingworth is in line for a comeback in central midfield for the first time this year.

He picked up a medial knee ligament injury against Farsley Celtic on Boxing Day and has not featured since.

"If Jez has no reaction to the last training session, he has every chance of playing," said manager Neil Parsley.

"He has been out eight weeks and that is a long time. He has been badly missed as well, because of his contribution to the team and also because of his leadership qualities."

Parsley is hoping his captain can inspire the side but he is under no illusions how big a task they are facing. However, following recent results he feels the players should dig deep to regain their own pride and placate the club's supporters.

"The players owe me and Trevor Storton a performance. They let the spectators, the management team and the club down last week. The performance against Wakefield & Emley wasn't good enough and there were some home truths brought up in the dressing room afterwards.

"We have got to make it difficult for Witton, which is what we didn't do against Emley.

"It will be a tough game, Witton gave us a bit of a spanking at their place. But that was back in early December and they had three players on loan from Crewe."
