MATTHEW Langstaff is the latest youngster to emerge from the Greens' junior ranks to play for the first team (writes Mike Crowther).
The 18-year-old makes his debut on the wing for Wharfedale at the Avenue tomorrow when Lancashire side Manchester make the trip across the border.
Langstaff comes in for Andy Hodgson in one of two changes in the back division.
Hodgson is away on holiday after scoring twice in Saturday's last-gasp defeat at Launceston while full back Adam Whaites has not quite recovered from a sprained ankle sustained in the same match. He is replaced by veteran Jonathan Davies who makes his first full appearance of the season.
The other change comes in the pack which sees Rob Baldwin return at no 8 after missing a couple of matches with a chest injury.
With winger James Hutchinson still not ready for first-team duty after a leg injury, Langstaff gets his chance in only his second year playing senior rugby after impressing for the Foresters and also for Yorkshire under-18s.
He is a key member of the Wharfedale Colts team where he has regularly caught the eye with some intelligent running lines from full back.
The former South Craven School pupil, from Cross Hills, joined Wharfedale's junior set up from Keighley in his early teens.
