Farsley Celtic will have to be on top form tonight if they are to bounce back from Saturday's disappointing exit from the FA Trophy at Kettering Town.

Blyth Spartans are the visitors to Throstle Nest and despite being in tenth place in the UniBond Premier Division they have played just 17 games so far. That is two less than even Farsley, who are behind most of their rivals because of cup runs.

A win for Farsley would not lift them above their current sixth place but they would move to within a point of Burscough. A maximum three points would also see them just five points behind second-placed Frickley Athletic with two games in hand.

"There are so many ways of looking at it. We just want to keep our impressive league run going and we are looking to win the game as we do every time we take the field," said Celts boss Lee Sinnott.

The squad could be shorn of Andy Watson - the winger picked up an ankle injury in the 2-1 loss at Kettering, but Roy Stamer could be back in contention. Stamer was cup tied for the Trophy match but has been nursing a groin injury.

"The extra few days could have improved the stiffness of Roy's leg. Andy is not definitely out but he must be considered doubtful at this stage," added Sinnott.

"We will have a long chat to the players about Saturday's game but it will not be a case of lifting them. We will remind them that we have gone seven games without defeat in the league and the last three of those have been straight wins.

"We don't have to do a repair job. The Kettering game was a one-off against a club from a higher division."
