Donovan Ricketts marches straight back into goal tonight as City get serious in the LDV Vans Trophy.

The Jamaican keeper is back from suspension for the northern area quarter-final at Kidderminster.

Colin Todd is not planning to make too many changes as City eye the chance of making real money from the competition.

Todd rested both David Weth-erall and Dean Windass against Morecambe in the last round but hinted that one of them might play at Aggborough.

"This is not just an important result for the players but also for the football club," said the City boss.

"There's an opportunity there to make further progress and if we were fortunate enough to go down to Cardiff for the final then it could be worth a lot of money."

Bringing back Ricketts, who had been in dominant form before his two-game ban, is a statement of intent from the Bantams.

He was left out for the More-cambe win but Todd said: "I just feel I need to play him.

"I still think the red card at Southend was a harsh decision but it's in the past now.

"Donovan's mentality is strong and nothing fazes him, as you've seen from his performances.

"If he can keep the standards that he has shown then we know we have got a goalkeeper who is very difficult to beat."

With only eight teams left in the northern section, City are potentially only three rounds away from a day at the Millennium Stadium on April 2. That message will be drummed home in the dressing room.

Todd said: "The LDV doesn't mean a lot to people at the higher levels but for us it can be very significant.

"Morecambe was a demanding game and I'm expecting this one to be more difficult but once again it will be down to our attitude.

"I had to make changes last time but I would hope tonight the 11 who start can do the business.

"I think the players will be champing at the bit to get the disappointment from Saturday out of the way."
