Chris Caisley has presided over some of the most successful seasons in the history of Bradford Bulls - and before that Bradford Northern - Rugby League Club in his 16 years at the helm. During his tenure as chairman the Bulls made a leap from a solid but dour Yorkshire side to one of the most exciting teams in sport, let alone in Rugby League.

That revival was born on the back of the launch of the Super League, which brought a whole new style and ethos to the sport. Mr Caisley was one of the very first to grasp the opportunities that Super League ushered in and one of the first to introduce the pre-match razzmatazz that lifted the sport out of the doldrums and made a visit even to windswept Odsal a thrilling day out.

During his time with the Bulls, the club were crowned Super League champions four times, won the Challenge Cup twice and became World Champions on two occasions. It is an enviable record and one of which Mr Caisley can rightly be proud. He will be less happy that Odsal stadium has still not been redeveloped, but at least he leaves with the general hope that the "sporting village" concept can get off the ground. He will be a hard act to follow.

Mr Caisley would be the first to admit that the club is far bigger than one man and that the Bulls' success has been a fabulous team effort. But on behalf of Bulls fans everywhere we should say: thank you Chris for all you've done for the club and for helping to put Bradford on the map in such a positive way.
