He may still only be 22 years old but Ben Harris has already won two of the game's biggest prizes.

However, Grand Final glory in Australia quickly backed up with the same feat in England hasn't quenched his thirst for success.

Now the tough-tackling centre is gearing up for more of the same in 2006.

Harris arrived at Odsal in May after leaving Canterbury Bulldogs and immediately became a mainstay of Brian Noble's side as they powered on to Super League silverware.

He garnered six tries along the way and meted out some punishing defence but the Aussie is planning on delivering plenty more this time around with the base of a full pre-season under his belt.

"Yeah, I wasn't here for the start last year," Harris admitted after another session in the gym. "Coming through halfway through made it a bit harder but I know most of the moves now so hopefully it'll be better again this time.

"It's just hard getting back into the routine after six weeks off but our first game is on January 2 so there's not long to go."

The Bulls visit Warrington in their premier pre-season friendly when Harris begins his bid to offer just as much danger as his more celebrated Kiwi centre partner Shontayne Hape.

"Winning the Grand Final was awesome and we played really well," he said.

"Now this year I just want to cement my spot in the centres and play consistently. I'm always trying to improve my game. That's what we're training for and I'm just training hard to be ready."

With Leon Pryce gone, Harris will have a new wingman down the right, probably in the shape of former Leeds Rhino Marcus Bai.

There have been plenty of changes at the club during the close season and he added: "We've got new players coming in and lost a few but we'll see how it goes."

Meanwhile, Harris admits he has been keeping a low profile around the likes of Joe Vagana and returning Kiwi Lesley Vainikolo following his country's 24-0 hammering at the hands of New Zealand in the Tri-Nations final.

"It did come as a surprise to me," conceded the youngster. "I thought we were going to win it but the Kiwis played just too well. It was unbelievable.

"Not much has been said here though. I've just kept my mouth shut!"

Harris has hopes to forge a Test career of his own but said: "My main priority is playing at club level which is what you have got to do if you get picked for Australia.

"That's my main focus and now I'm just looking forward to starting up again with the Bulls."
