Karl Pratt is NOT staging a playing comeback with Doncaster Lakers.

But the former Great Britain ace says he would love to inspire the ambitious South Yorkshire club in the same way Robbie Paul helped transform the Bulls.

Quotes recently attributed to Pratt claimed he was joining Doncaster - just ten days after announcing his retirement due to persistent shoulder injuries.

The 25-year-old had been released from his Bulls contract but was apparently agreeing to a dramatic

U-turn with the LHF Healthplan National League One outfit.

However, today he insisted: "I'm not playing for Doncaster - that would be stupid.

"I'm really good friends with St John Ellis (Doncaster boss) and my best mate Neil Lowe has just signed for them.

"Singe had a word with me last week, asking if I wanted to get involved at Doncaster.

"I went down on Thursday and was asked at a fans' forum if I'd be playing.

"I said I would love to get involved there but it was taken out of context and the next thing it was on Teletext saying I was back playing."

Pratt continued: "Donny are going places. They have got a brand new £33million stadium on the way and want to be in Super League in the next three years.

"I'd like to help them. They say they want me to do what Robbie Paul did with Bradford - they want to use me as the face of the club.

"As a 25-year-old former GB international, Donny think I could be good for them and whether it is working in schools or in the community it's something I'd be interested in.

"But I'd be stupid to actually try and play there; I'd get nothing out of that."
