Otley coach Peter Clegg was not a happy man after his side were beaten 22-19 last Saturday by Pertemps Bees at Cross Green in National League One.

"We sat down and we realised that the level of performance that we gave at the weekend is just not acceptable. We just didn't go out on the park in the first half," he confessed.

However, Clegg is a happier man this week as his side face the Bees again, this time away from home in the sixth round of the Powergen National Trophy.

"The response from the players has been 100 per cent in training but the proof will come either during the match tomorrow or after it."

Otley's coach might be calming down but that does not mean that he won't make changes. One possibility is Steve Treth-ewey coming into the front row and another is to start with Dave Scully at scrum half. He was on the bench last Saturday.

Bradford & Bingley, who are fifth in National League Three North, have a key match at home to fourth-placed Darling-ton.

One of the main selection queries for the Bees is who to put with Bloues Volschenk in the second row. There are three possibilities - Steve Burns, Richard Hughes or Barry Clark, if the latter has recovered sufficiently from a broken jaw.

Whichever of the trio gets the nod, the other two will be on the bench alongside prop Roger Raper and centre Phil Greaves.

And if Greaves hasn't shaken off his ankle injury, then Marcus Dracup will be the fourth man among the replacements.

The Bees will be without Latu Makaafi in the short term, however. "His mother is seriously ill in Tonga and he has gone home," said Bees' head coach Geoff Wappett. Bradford & Bingley are three points behind Darlington but have two games in hand. Cleckheaton's Alan Bentley feels his side didn't get the credit they deserved after their narrow 6-0 defeat at leaders Nuneaton last weekend.

The Moorenders aim to take the positives from that match into their all-Yorkshire clash at home to Hull Ionians tomorrow. Tom Gwilliam returns at full back, although Iain Gordon has done little wrong as his deputy. Oliver Akroyd is back at No 8.

Apart from prop rotation, Craig Ingram coming in for Neil Dickinson, who moves to the bench, Wharfedale make just one change at home to second-placed Waterloo in National League Two, John Newton resuming at scrum half in place of James Doherty, who drops to the bench.
