A Keighley thespian is taking a break from his role as a resort manager to direct a pre-Christmas play.

Steven Clark, right, who is set to spend the festive season in Florida, has returned home to direct Keighley Playhouse's production of 101 Dalmatians.

Steven has been working in Corfu as head of entertainment and as a resort manager for the holiday company MyTravel.

He said: "We have had a very successful season and the holidaymakers have had an enjoyable time."

For summer 2006, Steven will take up the position of resort controller in Las Vegas.

"I was over the moon when they asked me," he said. "Las Vegas is a unique and theatrical location. I'm sure I will have the most wonderful experience working with the Americans and taking in all the shows - I may even come home with some new costumes and a couple of feather backpacks."

The production of 101 Dalmatians takes place from December 5-10 and Steven is confident it will be a success. He said: "The playhouse wanted a classic for Christmas - something that could be enjoyed by the whole family no matter what generation you fall into. I think with Dalmatians, no matter what age you are, you will leave the theatre believing that dogs do talk."
