A mother of two used a teenage boy as a drug runner from the home she has now been thrown out of, a court heard.

Cocaine was discovered on November 1 during a police search of Amy Bury's house in Pentland Close, Keighley, and from where a 14-year-old had been selling Drugs, Bingley magistrates were told.

The 25-year-old's house was one of 12 raided in the Keighley division as part of Operation Constantine, a Bradford-wide crackdown on drug abuse and anti-social behaviour.

During the three day operation, 37 houses were targeted and boarded up under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Magistrates agreed to the closure order yesterday despite Miss Bury's claims that she was not a drug dealer nor had her house been a drugs den.

Det Sgt Neil Thompson said complaints about Miss Bury's property had come from neighbours who had kept diaries supplied by their landlord, Brunel Housing.

"There were loud parties day and night. There had been reports of syringes found outside and people had overheard talk about heroin and crack cocaine in the area where there were children," said Det Sgt Thompson.

"There was also a violent fracas when police were called to calm it down."

There were reports of a 14-year-old boy acting as a drug runner from the house and cocaine had been found in the property during a search, he added.

Ben Duke, Brunel tenancy enforcement officer, said tenants were given diaries to fill in to report disturbances.

They reported noise, loud parties, finding syringes and visitors to the house as late as 4am.

Miss Bury admitted using amphetamines but denied using class A drugs, like cocaine.

She denied that the 14-year-old, who was under an anti-social behaviour order and had been banned from her property, had worked as a "runner." She said she had split from her partner, who was convicted of stabbing and breaking her jaw.

She had been abused and threatened at her home by his friends and other youths, she added.

Mo Hussain, for Miss Bury, said it was highly dangerous to use hearsay evidence, not backed up by identified witnesses, to throw a mother out of her home.

Magistrates also agreed to the closure of Flat 10, Changegate House, Low Street, Keighley, the home of Paul Frankland, after hearing claims of it being used as a "crack house" for the use of cocaine and heroine.

They agreed to adjourn until November 24 making formal closure orders on houses in Carleton Street, Beechcliffe, Keighley, Temple Street, Keighley, Bracken Bank Avenue, Keighley, Staveley Road, Ingrow, Keighley, North Dean Avenue, Keighley, Elmwood Drive, Keighley, Kensington Street, Keighley Greystones Drive, Keighley and Lim Street Square, Saltaire.
