Keighley Ladies 0 Leeds Met University 2 - Keighley put on a show to remember, and went out of the County Cup in style with a fighting performance.

They battled to the bitter end against top club Leeds Met, and almost scored in the opening moments. Captain Michelle Harrison tried to chip the University goalkeeper from just inside the half way line, but her ambitious attempt was just wide of the goal.

Excellent keeping from Claire Atkinson, at the other end, kept the Leeds side at bay in a goalless first half.

After the break the confident University side maintained the pressure, but Keighley were threatening on the break and went close again when a long ball from Harrison found striker Maria McArdle who shot just over the bar.

A lofted ball into the Keighley box was mishandled in the icy conditions and rolled into the net giving Leeds the lead with a soft goal.

A shot that found its way through a crowd of players secured the win for Leeds.
