Keighley Minors 2
Leeds Minors 3
Keighley pushed top team Leeds all the way in their County Minor Cup clash at Cougar Park on Wednesday.
The tie was expected to be one of the toughest in the competition, with Leeds starting as favourites to take the title, but Keighley were determined to upset the form book.
The local team played impressive flowing football throughout and put Leeds under pressure, but the visitors knew how to find the back of the net.
Leeds took a 3-0 lead and Keighley had their goalkeeper Adam Baguley sent off, when eh brought down an attacker in a one-on-one situation, leaving them down to 10 men.
But Keighley fought back with a goal from Liam Hodgson just before half time and he added a second on 60 minutes to set up a thrilling final period, but the home side could not get the breakthrough they were needed.
They have further games in January and February 2006 and can still reach the play-off stages of the competition.
