CARLY ROBERTSON has picked up her karate black belt - at just 12 years of age.
Carly, a pupil at Oakbank Sports College, studies with Mo Ilyas at the Bismillah Club in Haworth and recently travelled to Prague with the England team where she won her category and also won the SKU Open championship.
The martial arts expert is also a top athlete and was name Athlete of the Year at the Bingley Harriers Club after capturing the West Yorkshire 800m crown, breaking a record that had stood since 1982.
She showed her all round skill at the weekend, winning the West Yorkshire cross country championships at Wakefield on Saturday and the Yorkshire Karate Cup on Sunday.
This weekend she travels to Liverpool to take part in the UK Cross Country Challenge when she will take on the UK's No1 runner in her age group.
