Colin Todd will spend the next few days pondering whether to unleash Marc Bridge-Wilkinson straight into the firing line.

City's play-making midfielder is hoping to make a dramatic return at Huddersfield after ten weeks out of action.

But Todd must decide if he should introduce Bridge-Wilkinson gradually from the bench or gamble by playing him straight away.

Ben Muirhead is suspended after Saturday's red card against Barnsley and Bobby Petta only came back to training yesterday.

Bridge-Wilkinson could slot in to the wide role but Todd admits it is a big call to make ahead of the derby clash.

"We've got to remember Bridgey has been out for two months now," said Todd. "You've got to look at the whole picture but he's got another week to train with us so we can see how he progresses.

"Sometimes you have to throw

people in the deep end.

"Richard Edghill is fit to train with us again and Petta has returned but we'll see if there's any reaction."

Todd did not have any sympathy for Muirhead, who was sent off for the first time in his career.

He added: "Once you raise your hands at an opponent you are in

trouble. What Ben did was stupid, especially as he had already been booked."

City won at the Galpharm a year ago but second-placed Huddersfield have lost only once in nine home games this season.

City have sold just over 2,500 tickets for the derby so far. They will remain on sale at the Valley Parade box office until 5pm on Friday.

l City's reserves are back in action tomorrow when they face Stoke at Newcastle-under-Lyme.
