Bradford Area Occupational Health and Safety Forum is hosting a Noise at Work Seminar for this year's European Health and Safety Week,
The seminar takes place on Tuesday at the Carlisle Business Centre in Manningham, Bradford.
Employers and employees from Keighley and Bradford are welcome to attend this free event.
Hearing damage from exposure to loud noise at work is a significant and preventable problem, but noisy workplaces are still too often viewed as a necessary evil.
Nearly one in four employees in the EU are exposed to such high, persistent noise levels at work that they have to raise their voices to make themselves heard for at least half their time at work.
Carol Duerden from the Workers Health Advice Team will be running a workshop on audiometric testing and Robert Woods, vice chairman of the Bradford Area Occupational Health and Safety Forum, is to run a workshop on how to risk assess noise in the workplace.
Jenny Lawson from the West Yorkshire European Information Centre will speak at the seminar about the problem of excessive noise in the workplace and the forthcoming legislation designed to tackle it.
There will also be a number of fringe workshops on a wide range of health and safety issues.
