SKIPTON Swimming Club member Jenna Chatburn produced a national qualifying time for 2006 and a gold medal in the 100m breaststroke in the Winter Yorkshire Gala.

With an amazing heat swim, which saw her lead the field from start to finish, she hit the pad in a time of 1.17.43. Qualifying time for National 2006 is a 1.18.25.

Lining up in the final as the fastest qualifier she swam another aggressive race and took the lead early, winning the gold medal by a good four metre gap from her nearest rivals.

She is competing for Yorkshire at the Inter-Counties meeting on October 16.

Carolyn Haworth gained a silver medal in the 100m backstroke, producing a time just 2.5 seconds off a national-qualifying time.

Julia Scrivin gained her first county bronze medal in the 100m backstroke in a time of 1.13.43. She is now only 1.74 seconds off a national time.
