City are hurting but not

panicking after their derby loss, Mark Bower insisted today.

The Bradford-born centre half appreciates how the fans are

feeling in the wake of Huddersfield's victory at Valley Parade.

But he is adamant the defeat - City's first in seven games in the league - is not a signal to write the team off.

Bower said: "It's disappointing to lose such a big game, especially in front of the nation so to speak with it being on TV.

"Because it was a derby, losing feels twice as bad as a normal defeat and the lads do feel hurt in the dressing room. We need to bounce back as we've done on previous occasions and

hopefully we can put things right on Saturday.

"But we're still tenth in the table and there's not much space between us and the play-off spots. Nobody is panicking."

City will be boosted by the return of Dean Windass at Port Vale. Goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts should also return after a

two-month injury lay-off.

The Bantams are four points behind fifth-placed Vale but lead Gillingham in 23rd by the same margin.

Bower added: "A win on Saturday and we are right back up there. We managed to keep a clean sheet at Port Vale last season and Danny Forrest popped up with the winner and hopefully we can get the three points there again."

Away tickets for the return derby at the Galpharm on November 19 go on sale to season-ticket holders only from Tuesday. The remainder of City's 3,700 allocation go on general sale from November 1. Tickets cost £18 for adults, £9 senior citizens and £6 under-16s.
