MARK Casson, who plays off scratch, set a new Bentham course record when he shot a 67, three under par, in the October medal.
The stiff breeze and the lack of run provided difficulties for some players but Mark's only problems were self inflicted when he three putted the sixth and bogeyed the par four ninth after almost driving the green.
However, he compensated handsomely for these errors by making six excellent birdies.
Casson, 20, began playing 15 years ago and hopes to play representative golf for the county team and has further aspirations to qualify as a PGA professional.
