City reserves were well beaten by a Walsall side who have rattled off 11 goals in two games.

The Bantams again fielded a very young and inexperienced outfit. But they went into half-time on level terms after Kevin Sanasy's curling strike just before the interval cancelled out an 11th-minute header from Argentinian Dario Larrosa.

Sanasy had also seen another effort saved by Rene Gilmartin, while City keeper Ben Saynor had denied Michael Husbands.

But City, who included Damion Stewart back from injury, were picked apart in the second half.

Saynor was having a good game up to that point but he misjudged a low crossfield ball which allowed Larrosa to net his second after 56 minutes.

The Walsall striker then turned provider to set up substitute Alex Nicholls for number three with a quarter of an hour left.

Kris Taylor scored the fourth via a post before Nicholls, who bagged a hat-trick in a youth match on Saturday, got his second from a fine pass by fellow sub David McDermott.

Larrosa had chances to complete his treble as Walsall continued to exploit the amount of room they were being given.

But City nearly had the last

say when Joe Brown drove across the goalmouth in the closing

minutes.

City reserves: Saynor, Swift, O'Brien, Bentham, Denvers, Stewart, Colbeck, Penford, Sanasy, Brown, Thornton. Subs: Claisse, McGuire, Butorins, Taylforth, Ainge.
