Bulls second-rower Brad Meyers is free to face St Helens on Friday night after being cleared of a spear tackle on Richard Whiting during Saturday night's 71-0 play-off thrashing of Hull FC at Odsal.

The former Australia international was placed on report by referee Steve Ganson after appearing to flip Whiting in a tackle late in the second half.

But after reviewing video replays of the incident, Rugby Football League officials have ruled that Meyers should face no further action. Hull forward Stephen Kearney, who was sent off in the seventh minute for a high tackle on Stuart Fielden, will face an RFL disciplinary panel tonight.

Meanwhile, scrum half Paul Deacon, who kicked a record ten goals in the play-off victory, insists the Bulls won't be lulled into a false sense of security by their prolific recent form.

"Things probably could not be going any better - but I'm sure we won't win by that margin this week," said Deacon. "It will be a totally different game against St Helens. Confidence is high but we've got to keep our feet on the ground.

"We beat St Helens a couple of weeks ago but it took 65

minutes until we got on top so it's going to be a tough game.

"While we've been fortunate to get players back from injury at the right time, St Helens have lost key players at the wrong time. It's unfortunate for them but the players they bring in always play well."
