Cougar Cubs will be taking part in a record breaking Rugby League Festival on Sunday.

The huge event will see almost 3,500 players between the ages of seven and 11, playing at 38 venues across the country at the same time on the same day.

United Co-op has joined forces with the Rugby League and Sportsmatch to promote the competition and it is aimed to reach 12,000 young people within three years.

Philip Jones, secretary of United Coperatives said: "We have supportd Rugby League for manyyears and see this as new eara of sp9onsorship as an exciting extension both to our involvement with the sport, youth development and to our close association with the communities in which we trade."

A total of 15 Under-10s teams from West Yorkshrie will descend on Utley playing fields with a planned seven games kicking off simultaneously at 11am.

The round robin tournament will last about 90 minutes.

"We want as many people as possible to come along and give the event their support," said Cubs secretary, Bob Gillard.
