It was a steamy affair for a train enthusiast who made tracks from the Isle of Man to marry his sweetheart in Keighley -- the home of Keighley and Worth Valley Railway (K&WVR).

After tying the knot at the Church of the Nazarene in Oakworth on Saturday, Tony and Margaret Wilson celebrated at Oxenhope Railway Station.

It was full steam ahead for the happy couple, who also enjoyed a ride on the Green Dragon, Victorian locomotive 957, which appeared in the 1970 film adaptation of The Railway Children.

Tony, 59, said: "The railway people really pulled out all the stops.

"It was absolutely fantastic. I couldn't fault it in any way. We're still on cloud nine."

Margaret, Tony's partner of 12 years, is also a vintage vehicle fanatic. The 52-year-old, from Leeds, arrived at the ceremony in a 1930s Rolls Royce. The rest of the party arrived in a 1948 Leyland coach.

At the reception the pair enjoyed their wedding breakfast in the railway museum and then took the red carpet to the wedding carriage.

Tony, who owns a train and bus photography company, said: "We were surrounded by railway engines and coaches. I was in my element."

Tony, whose mother was born and buried in Keighley, said: "I've always been interested in railways. I couldn't help it, it's in my blood. My father's side was a big railway family. You could always find one of them driving, shovelling coal or checking tickets. My grandfather actually died on duty at Silsden."

Tony's son Richard, who works for Network Rail, continues the legacy. Mirroring Tony's parents' own wedding, the couple caught a train to Morecambe after the party.

Tony, who still has family in the Worth Valley, said: "The day brought a lot of people together. Everybody was on a high. I'll never forget it."

It was also a special day for Tony's 69-year-old aunt, Rita Payne, who met her six great nephews for the first time at the wedding. Mrs Payne was brought up in a children's home and spent years trying to trace her family.

A spokesman for K&WVR said: "We've done weddings, funerals and christenings before. They are really good dos and extremely popular."

Tony and Margaret, who moved to the Isle of Man earlier this year, jet off to San Francisco in October for their honeymoon.
