Glusburn's second string have gained promotion to Division Three and Cononley 2nds will go up to Division Four as the season reaches boiling point.

There are also new leaders at the top of Division One after the top two locked horns at Shires Lane.

Visitors Barrowford were in fine form as they crashed 221-6 despite a slow start. The thorn in the home side's side was Ajmal Choudrhy. He scored 95 as he and Ronnie Misra, 51 put on 120 for the second wicket, building the platform for their impressive total.

The Shires Laners were never in the hunt and succumbed for a miserable 94 in reply with skipper Duncan Ward top scoring with 39 as Misra claimed 6-47 off 18.4 overs.

Cullingworth close up on Embsay after beating Cowling at Roydwood Terrace. The visitors were put into bat and made 192 with Steve Richardson scoring 74 and Keith Woodhead 30 as Steve Welch took 3-2 in four balls, which included the hat-trick. The other successful bowlers were Dave Robinson 3-22 and Matt Pearson 3-40.

The homesters' won by five wickets with Welch making 57 and Gareth Marshall a whirlwind 63 off only 27 balls.

The basement battle at Foulridge ending with them beating Haworth West End by nine wickets. Tom Stephenson was in great form taking 7-30 as the Bronte side were knocked over for 74. Chris Brooker-Carey with 34no steered the side to three welcome points, which puts pressure on third bottom Bradley who slumped to a five-wicket defeat at the hands of Wynn Cup finalists Glusburn.

Bradley's skipper Neil Robinson made a fine 93 as his side posted 170-8, Steve Filkin finished with 4-51. In reply Mark Price with 40 led the Park Field side to the spoils which keeps them in fourth place.

Oakworth are a point behind Glusburn after getting the better of visitors Thornton. The West Craveners got off to a poor start by losing Kevin Pollard, run out, early on. They struggled to 74-8 where G Farrar and Stott put on 40 for the ninth wicket which helped them to 120 all out. Jason Bilbrough was the most successful bowler with 4-42 off 13.4 overs. Seventeen-year-old Joel Gallagher stroked the ball to all parts in his 57no, which set up a nine-wicket triumph for the Cure Hill side.

Bingley Congs had few problems seeing off a much weakened Haworth side by nine-wickets. Adam Balderstone made 38 of the Bronte sides' 96 as Adrian Dibb claimed 4-21 and Chris Hemsley 3-34. Duncan Thorne 47no and skipper Andy Copping 32no took the Beckfoot side to victory.

The Division Two title race is bubbling very nicely with eight clubs still in with a mathematical chance of going up. Haworth Road are the new leaders after they overcame nine-man Cononley and Ingrow lost to third placed Sandy Lane who now go second on run rate.

P Rodwell, 80no, and Charlie Hainsworth were the backbone of the Baildon Bottom side's impressive 275-5. Homesters Cononley then replied with a creditable 151-8. A Starkey top scoring with 25 as Chris Griggs took 3-38.

It took a last-wicket partnership of 29 by N Khan and Tony Ousey to bring some respectability to Ingrow's innings which closed on 93, Steve Carass taking 4-29 off 12 overs. Sandy Lane lost three wickets reaching 27, and then skipper Mark Oldfield (21no) and Wasim Aktar (39no) took there side to victory by seven wickets in the 22nd over.

Just four points behind the leaders are Airedale who encountered few problems beating bottom side Chatburn by 77 runs.

Crossflatts redeemed themselves after the ignominy of being shot out for 22 last week by winning at Sutton by three wickets with just three balls of the game to go. Chris Capstick with 47 helped the home side to 158-7. Then R Brooksbank made 48 as 'Flatts reached their target.

Pendle Forest have made strides up the table recently and this week the beat Skipton CI by seven-wickets at Fence.

Denholme recorded a rare victory when they beat Long Lee by 14 runs at Golden View. Phil Poole 41 and 6-58 was the star for the winners whilst Matt Taylor 7-75 and 22 did his best for the Long Lee.

Embsay II's Nas Hussain claimed 8-35 as Barrowford II crumpled to 47 all out at the Bull Holme Oval. The Shires Lane side lost three wickets taking the points. Their lead at the top of the table was extended to four points following second placed Oakworth II defeat at Thornton II. James Cowgill (63) and David Harrison (37) were the main contributors to the homesters 149. Paul McCullough finishing with 5-31 off 14 overs. The Cure Hill side got off to a solid start thanks to 47 by Steve Hartley and 20 to Chris Mooney. However the other batsmen failed to capitalise on the start and they ended up short of their target. Veteran Brian Laycock took 4-55 in 19.5 overs.

Ingrow St John's are fourth after they beat Haworth Road by seven wickets at Baildon Bottom.

Wilsden beat Riddlesden by 69 runs at Windy Grove and Jimmy Nelson's won by three wickets at Ingrow St John's II.

Gargrave had an off day at home to Pendle Forest, going down by 105 runs.

Glusburn II make a speedy return to the Third Division after their victory over Bradley II at Park Field guaranteed them promotion. One more point and they will go up as champions. Phil Shackleton 78no and David Barton 61 put on 121 for the fourth wicket as the home side rattled up 222-5. Matt Buckmaster top-scored with 30 as the visitors replied with 148. Brian Hollis finished with 4-43 off 15 overs.

Carleton are also hoping to make a quick return to the higher division. They have fought their way into second spot on the back of some high scoring, This week they rattled up 227-8 thanks to Martyn Windle who made 100. Phil Binner then claimed 5-27 as visitors Long Lee II struggled to 83 in reply.

Keighley TC look to be the main danger to Carleton. They travelled to Skipton CI II and made 160, with 95 coming from the bat of Chris Brooks. John Stuttard claimed 5-57 and Mal Seward 3-54. The home side managed 115 in reply, which was creditable considering they were 24-6 at one time. Dave Suter snr top scoring with 34no as Brooks, Dean Woolley and Adam Greenwood all took three wickets.

Colin Williamson 66 and Gary Searby 43no helped Haworth II to 204-6 at home to Bingley Congs II. J Robb made 52no as the visitors replied with 112.

Cowling Cup winners Cowling II were in buoyant mood when they beat visitors Airedale II by 10 wickets. Mark Glover 5-40 and Mark Batty 54no being the main contributors to victory.

Crossflatts II had to drag old players to the ranks and it worked as they beat Wilsden II 65 runs. Evergreen John Patrick made 38 to go with Richard Andrews 58 as 'Flatts totalled 187. Steve Gage took 4-48 for the winners.

Cononley II continued their march to the Division Five title by beating Pendle Forest III by seven wickets at Barrowford. Matthew Beer 6-24 and Tim Holloway 4-36 being the destroyers-in-chief for the winners, who secured promotion.

Sutton II need one more point to also gin promotion after they encountered few problems at Riddlesden II, knocking them over for just 34 with Graham Hardaker claiming 6-16. The South Craveners romped home by ten-wickets.

Denholme II could mathematically catch Sutton II after walloping Gargrave II by 10 wickets. Ian Spencer 5-31 and Kenny Moore 4-45 ripped through the batting to set up the victory, which was completed by Martin Armitage with 64no and B Mottram 11no.

Chatburn II and Cullingworth II had a ding dong struggle before the Ribble Valley side sneaked home by one wicket in the 38th over.

Finally Ingrow II walloped Sandy Lane II by seven wickets in a high scoring game at Hainworth. Chasing 178 the Keighley side waltzed to the spoils thanks to Phil Sharpe 75, S Khan 54 and Ian Herbert 34no.
