Ilkley Cricket Club's first team look destined for relegation from Division B of the Airedale and Wharfedale League after losing to beleagured Hall Park on Saturday.

Ilkley fell for 119 as Robert Murphy, who has returned to the Horsforth side after working in the south, took 3-56 and Australian Paul Allegretto 3-29.

Kiwi Leighton Parsons opened the batting for Ilkley but made just 14 before being caught by veteran Peter Kempton off the bowling of Khaliq. His opening partner, young Alex Bailey, had made just five and when veteran Phil Sant went for one Ilkley were in trouble at 22-3.

Michael Sant forged a fightback with a good knock of 43 but he was running out of partners at the other end and when he was out Ilkley were 100-6.

They struggled on to an all out 119 with J Haigh picking up 2-9 off a tidy spell of eight overs.

Park's batsmen also struggled and they lost opener Allegretto without scoring and slumped to 14-2 as F Butt was lbw to Darren Jayes for 14.

Jamie Simpson started Park's fightback with an innings of 32 but despite Darren Jayes pegging away to take 5-26 off 16 overs Park reached their target with three wickets in hand.

Craig Hobson steered them to victory with an unbeaten 15.

Menston were consigned to a second successive relegation when they were defeated by Bardsey on Saturday.

An unbeaten fourth wicket stand of 104 between Steve Bowes (58 no) and Claud Davies (36 no) saw Bardsey win by seven wickets.

Menston had been dismissed for 176 with three wickets apiece for Nick Ryder and D Hartley.

Top scorer for Menston was M Mehdi with 75.

Olicanians gained a four wickets win over Illingworth who were rstricted to 162-9 as Dave Corcoran, Matthew House and D Murray all bagged two wickets.

Olicanians lost both openers cheaply but then Robert Wheeler made 38 and Matthew House 37 .
