Former Bulls stars Jimmy Lowes and Tevita Vaikona are to take part in the Tetley's Cross-Code Challenge.

Lowes will don a Bulls shirt for the first time since the 2003 Grand Final victory over Wigan while Vaikona, currently playing rugby union for Saracens, will turn out for Bradford & Bingley.

Vaikona, who spent a two-month spell on loan at the Bees, is looking forward to showing off his newly polished rugby union skills.

"It's great that two of the major Bradford sports clubs are meeting for the first time," said Vaikona.

"I've been fortunate to play both codes professionally, so shouldn't need much introduction to either game's way of playing.

"I had some great years at the Bulls and played in some great matches, but I'll be returning to play alongside the current Bees team, so will be able to show the fans of both teams exactly how my game has changed."

Bulls hooking legend Lowes is sure to be one of the star attractions of the match, to be played on Sunday, July 31 at Wagon Lane.

Since retiring from the game he has kept his hand in playing rugby union for West Park Bramhope.

"I'm really looking forward to playing in the game as, even though it's only a year since I retired, I've really missed the day-to-day banter with the other lads," said Lowes.

"There should be a few old faces playing alongside me and against me, so no doubt there'll be a few individual clashes during the game - all friendly, of course!"

Tickets for the match are available from both Bradford Bulls (08701-202040) and Bradford & Bingley RFC (01274-775441).

l New Zealand duo Lesley Vainikolo and Shontayne Hape have both been included in the Bulls' 20-man squad to face Leigh on Sunday.

Squad: Withers, Reardon, B Harris, Johnson, Pratt, I Harris, Deacon, Vagana, Henderson, Fielden, Peacock, Meyers, L Pryce, K Pryce, Langley, Parker, Lynch, Hape, Vainikolo, Cook.
