EIGHT Craven League clubs are expected to attend a disciplinary meeting on July 21 for failing to fulfil the criteria required by the England and Wales Cricket Board's child welfare policy.

Since the Herald revealed the 15 clubs who had failed to meet the league's July 1 deadline to comply with the Safe Hands policy last week, league secretary Ann Coe said six of these had now put the necessary measures in place to become compliant.

At the Craven League's monthly meeting on Monday, nine clubs were asked to attend a disciplinary hearing but Haworth West End confirmed afterwards that they had everything in place to become compliant.

It means that Bingley Congs, Bradley, Cononley, Gargrave, Ingrow, Ingrow St John's, Jimmy Nelson's and Riddlesden are the remaining non-compliant clubs summoned to the meeting at Oakworth CC.

The measures which clubs need to have in place include ensuring child welfare officers, umpires and scorers over 18 are CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checked.

Also at the meeting, Glusburn's proposal to introduce a third team into the league next season was accepted. They plan to play their home games at Carleton.

The league has already accepted Eldwick and Gilstead CC into the league for next season. The first team will play in the third division and the second team in the fifth division.

Three new transfers which have taken place are Neil Robson - Sutton to Skipton CI; Sean Haigh - Denholme to Cullingworth; Scott Baxter - Harden to Crossflatts.
