After several weeks of league games between 16 primary schools the top teams played off in the competition finals this week.
The matches were umpired by Katherine Shepherd of Oakbank school and Alex Hall, PE teacher at Greenhead High School, a current England rounders international.
The games were closely fought with St Joseph's just edging out Nessfield in the race for the title.
As with the football leagues earlier in the year the children clearly enjoy the league format which provides them with regular competition and great thanks must go to staff and parents at all competing schools for giving up their time in order for the children to take part.
Hopefully the rounders league will grow next summer as the football leagues have, from 21 teams this year to 54 teams starting in September and covering Under-11 boys, Under-11 girls and and Under-9 mixed competition.
Finals results: Eastwood 4, Oxenhope 3; Nessfield 3, St Joseph's 5; Eastwood 4, Nessfield 5; Oxenhope 4, St Joseph;s 6; Eastwood 4, St Jospeh's 4; Oxenhope 2, Nessfield 6.
