Steeton returned to winning ways with an impressive win at home to Collingham.

The visitors piled up a total of 241-6, but on a good track with a lightning fast outfield it was a reachable total.

Neil Spragg took 3-43 on a tough day for the bowlers.

Five of the six wickets to fall were caught, two going to wicketkeeper Neil Wilson and one each for James Emmott, Nick Carroll and skipper Alex Howarth.

Steeton's reply was excellent, opener John Akrigg was the star, carrying his bat and scoring an unbeaten century. His 105 not out came from 132 deliveries and included 4 sixes and 16 fours.

Akrigg was the backbone of the innings, as he shared an opening stand of 64 with Paul Spragg, who scored 37 and shared a second wicket partnership of 87 with Aussie Nick Carroll (32). He continued with an unbeaten third wicket stand of 92 runs with Neil Spragg, who smashed 43 not out from 34 deliveries.

Steeton cruised past Collingham's total with over eight overs to spare.

The win means Steeton have closed the gap to three points between themselves and second placed Collingham.

Silsden went down to a five-wicket defeat at the hands of Horsforth.

The Cobbydale side scored 138 and could not hold off the Leeds side's reply.

The Steeton 2nd XI juggernaut continued its relentless progress towards the A division championship. They scored 188-9 with Alex Gledhill scoring a careful 33 as most of the team chipped in.

Matthew Hagyard provided the highlight of the innings with a 'big' six onto the pavilion roof in the last over.

Adel's innings showed little resistance with their last man already on a plane to Benidorm. They struggled to 124 - 64 runs short. Adel finished on 124 runs for 9 wickets (all out) in 44.4 overs. Stephen Roberts took 5-25.

This win leaves Steeton 14 points clear at the top of the A Division.
