The process to buy land to help the relocation of Keighley College can now go ahead.
Bradford Council executive has given the go-ahead to begin one of the major projects highlighted in the recently published Airedale Masterplan.
Negotiations are continuing but compulsory purchase powers could now be used to acquire a number of properties on a site in Dalton Lane, Keighley.
The land is needed to create a new campus for the college, a mini public transport interchange with a park-and-ride service, and a new home for the Keighley Bus Museum Trust.
Feasibility studies have been carried out and draft designs have been drawn up. Plans should be submitted by the end of August.
Councillor Simon Cooke, the council's executive member for regeneration, said: "It further demonstrates the council's commitment to support Keighley College's aspirations and is crucial to delivering the future economic and social development of Keighley and the wider Airedale Regeneration area.
"Operating from a new, state-of-the-art campus, the college will provide major benefits to developing the skills required to make Airedale and Keighley a competitive place where people will want to invest, live and work in the future."
