BOTH Follifoot and Kirkstall edged a point closer to Airedale and Wharfedale League leaders Bilton who were unable to dismiss Burley in a drawn game on Saturday. Bilton had to settle for five points after making 225-4 and then restricting Burley to 150-7.

Tim Sheehan opened the innings with a fine 52 and shared a first wicket stand of 88 with Toby Drummond who made 39. Simon Clemerson (51) and Andy Walker (72 no) then shared a third wicket stand of 93.

Nick Brook led Burley's reply with a knock of 46, sharing a second wicket stand of 50 with Grant Costello (31) but Luke Jarvis (3-28) and Andy Walker (2-37) held the upperhand.

Follifoot's Darren Pattinson returned 5-58 off 13 overs as Beckwithshaw were dismissed for 146 in reply to 174. Paul Miller hit a half-century for Follifoot.

Kirkstall picked up full points when S Hutson claimed 6-26 off 14 overs as Guiseley were put out for 149 in reply to Kirkstall's 188. For Kirkstall opener S Harrrison hit 56 but found little support as Peter Graham used his experience to return 5-32 off 12 overs. It was left to Josh Siddall (43) and Mike Dallaston (35 no) to push the score along as Graham received support from Andrew Paley who took 3-55.

The improving Rawdon took six points from a 20 runs win over North Leeds, victory coming off the last ball just the same as in their match the previous week against Burley.

Australian Matthew Hutton again showed his form with a superb 81 as Rawdon posted a score of 208-7. North Leeds made an excellent start in reply with openers Rob Winter (52) and James Goldthorp (71) sharing a stand of 107 but spinner Jon Hughes stole the headines with a magnificent 7-46 return off 18 overs.

Adel bagged all six points from their game at Tong Park. The visitors crashed 253 runs for the loss of seven wickets with David Standring (72) and opener Jon Francas (44) sharing a third wicket stand of 101 and then Simon Wardley hammering 81. Tong Park then fell for 116 as Francas bagged 3-11 and Tim Grey 2-11.

The re-emerging Otley were surprised at Green Lane where Barry McCormick (75) and David Whittaker (29) shared an opening stand of 74 to set up a winning draw. Lane finished on 238 despite the efforts of Andrew Burke (5-63) and Otley replied with 161-8.

Pool increased their lead at the top of Division B after topping the 300 mark. Opener David Singleton hammered a superb 84 and shared a third wicket stand of 108 with Mark McEneaney (62) as their side made 306-7. Bardsey replied with 204-7 to draw thanks to some solid batting.

Challengers Collingham went down to their second defeat of the season - both at the hands of Steeton. Jon Akrigg hammered 3 sixes and 15 fours in his unbeaten 105 as his side rubbed out the Collingham score of 241-6. Brian Leigh top scored for Collingham with 90 not out.

Steeton lost just two wickets in achieving victory with Neil Spragg contributing 43 not out.

Menston slumped to yet another defeat being dismissed for 86 in reply to Knaresborough's 212-8. Doing the damage were Mike Baxendall with 5-28 and Attiba Allert with 5-54.

Hall Park picked up four points from a drawn game with Thackley making 221-8 with A Higgins hitting an unbeaten 94. Thackley made a brave effort and were 209-9 when the overs ran out, Chris Luxton making 64.

Ilkley were another side to pick up four points after New Zealander Leighton Parsons hammered an unbeaten 131 as his side totalled 283-4. Alex Bailey with 50, Phil Sant with 41 and Craig Rackham with 33 no also made useful contributions. Calverley replied with 227-8 as Darren Jayes and Chris Quaife each picked up four wickets.

In Division C leaders Ben Rhydding slipped up with a 67 runs defeat at the hands of Upper Wharfedale with D Eggleton making 67 and J Yeadon and D Daggett among the wickets.

Colton narrowed the gap with a nine wickets win over Addingham after A Scholes had taken 5-26 and D Precious and N Thackray hit unbeaten half-centuries.

Illingworth opener J Harford hit 116 in his side's seven wickets win over Woodhouse sharing a first wicket stand of 131 with C Pell (49).
