Despite the worst weather of the winter so far, a good selection of local businesses turned out for a meeting of Keighley Small Business Club last Thursday.

Helen Catto from the Inland Revenue brought members up to date on the final 22 days before the deadline for tax self-assessment, advising on avoiding the pitfalls of the new penalty system and explaining how they would be investigated.

Evening raffle winner Chris Murdoch of BB Cleaning Services said: "As usual, the Small Business Club meeting was a good mix of useful business information and an enjoyable social evening."

Keighley Small Business Club is sponsored by Barclay's Bank and meets at Cedar House, Lawkholme Lane, on the second Thursday of each month (8pm-9.30pm). It aims to provide small businesses with advice on matters including marketing and promotion, and meetings usually feature a guest speaker.
