WITH three regular players out of the side Silsden Under-15's got off to a sluggish start against rampant Bolton Woods who hammered home two goals in three minutes.

Usman pulled one back after good work from Adam Whiteoak and after Woods extended their lead Blacka produced two classy goals to level the scores at half time. A penalty put Woods back in front before Silsden really took command.

Whiteoak sent the keeper the wrong way with a penalty and a first time shot from Usman crashed into the bottom corner. Gott finally wrapped the match up 10 minutes from time with an unstoppable low shot.

Steve Gott was man of the match with good performances from Joe Blacka, Adam Whiteoak and Graham Smith. The win keeps Silsden top of the league and they are also still in the quarter-finals of the League Cup.

Silsden Under-16's hammered Woods 8-3. Mark Whitaker opened the scoring and Danny Orme found the net twice before Shazad Khan put one away to snatch a 4-0 interval lead.

The visitors made more of a game of it with three second half goals, but Silsden remained in control. Khan scored two more to complete his hat-trick and Tom Palin finished in style.

With time running out Khan was brought down in the penalty area and Whitaker stepped up to convert from the spot.

Chris Wheeler was the pick of Silsden defenders and David McCluskey had a fine game in midfield.

Long Lee Under-11's clinched the Craven Junior League Under-11's title - with their first game of '98.

The 4-2 victory over Silsden was enough to ensure they cannot be beaten and it was man of the match Alistair Holdsworth who set them on the road to victory. Top scorer Daniel Sylvester scored the second.

Holdsworth added another with a skillful lob over the Silsden keeper before Richard Starmer pulled one back for the Cobbydalers.

Nathan Beattie opened the second half for Long Lee, but Silsden refused to lie down and pulled one back from James Berry and Long Lee had to withstand a hard fight back from Silsden.

Long Lee have not lost a game all season and now have just two league matches to go.

Cowling Under-11's were 3-0 up after just 15 minutes following a bright start against Bolton Woods. Goals from Chris Cleaver (2) and Niki Smout gave them the edge and they continued in the second half with Martin Galdes adding a solo effort. Woods hit back with three goals, but Cleaver completed his hat-trick to give Cowling a 5-3 victory.

Man of the match Liam Emmet capped a fine performance with a goal in Thornton Travellers Under-9's 4-1 win over Menston C. Menston defended well for much of the game, but could not prevent further goals from James Scott (2) and Kyle Mulley.

Haworth fought back from 4-1 down against Thackley to draw level by half time. The Worth Valley side created a string of other chances and in the second half they battled against a strong wind and eventually lost 5-7. Goal scorers were man of the match David Maw (3), Paul Whiteley (2).
