The Colin Appleyard car dealership in Keighley has been named as the sixth best in the UK in a survey conducted by Suzuki.

The ranking, out of 148 official Suzuki retailers in the UK, is based on quality of customer service and satisfaction, the skill and professionalism of employees - from sales staff to service departments - and overall success of the dealership.

The company's Huddersfield dealership came seventh, and overall Colin Appleyard achieved the second highest sales figures for Suzuki in Great Britain for 1997.

More four-wheel-drive vehicles were sold in the Keighley area than in any other part of the country except the Midlands.

Robin Luscombe, general manager of the two dealerships, says: "To be named as one of the top dealerships is an honour - to achieve it twice is a remarkable feat.

"We only missed out on being the top dealer by a few dozen cars.

"Keighley has the distinction of having one of the densest populations of four-wheel-drive vehicles in the country," he says.

"The success in the Suzuki rankings is a fitting tribute to the hard work and excellent commitment of everyone at Colin Appleyard."

The company is the region's main dealer for Suzuki, with which it has been associated since 1979, and sells a wide range of four-wheel-drive and off-road vehicles as well as vans and cars.

It has consistently been one of Suzuki's top dealerships, and also sells Suzuki motorcycles at branches in Leeds and Bradford.
