AT the recent Leeds Schools' Cross-Country Championships which were held at Garforth Comprehensive School, Guiseley girls were once again amongst the medal winners.
The Under-13 girl's team were without the school's outstanding runner, Stephanie Haughton, who was still recovering from illness after returning from representing Leeds in an athletics match in Dortmund, Germany.
Undismayed, the team ran superbly. Rebecca Shaw finished third, Charlotte Chapman seventh, Rebecca Drake 10th and Victoria Scott 11th to claim the team gold medals.
In the U5 girl's race, Joscelyn Shaw, older sister of Rebecca, ran brilliantly to finish third, her highest position all season, to collect a well deserved bronze medal.
