Bulls coach Matthew Elliott has denied any bad blood with Glen Tomlinson as the former Odsal scrum-half prepares for his first clash against his old club.

Tomlinson was effectively shown the door by Elliott in favour of Shaun Edwards despite figuring in every game on the road to the Super League title last season.

But ahead of Sunday's clash at Tomlinson's new club Hull Sharks, Elliott says: "I don't have a problem at all with Glen on a personal level. It was a decision that was made and someone was going to be unhappy but I am pleased to see him making a success of his career with Hull.

"He was an integral part of our success last season and deserves recognition for that.

"But after signing Shaun salary cap restrictions meant he wasn't able to stay on and fight for his place.

"But knowing the sort of character he is he'll be wanting to prove a point on Sunday and we have to be ready for him."

Also in the Sharks ranks will be former Odsal prop Andy Ireland but he drops back to the bench with Kiwi Jason Temu starting the game after an impressive substitute appearance in last week's 12-4 defeat at Salford.

Influential stand-off Gary Lester is also back to partner Tomlinson while the only other changes see Fili Seru return to the wing in place of Mark Johnson who has a rib cartilage problem.

Elliott was hoping to finalise his plans after training today with most attention focusing on the fitness of James Lowes and Danny Peacock.

Lowes has been making steady progress since returning to training last week following knee injury but Elliott may leave it until tomorrow before committing himself.

Peacock also missed last week's win at Sheffield with knee trouble but Elliott is pretty hopeful of his availability which would allow Tevita Vaikona to switch back to the wing in his first return to the Boulevard since his £100,000 move to the Bulls last October.

Sharks officials are expecting a near capacity crowd of around 10,000 and Bulls fans must buy tickets in advance. They are on sale at Odsal untill until 5.30pm tonight and between 9.30 and 12.30 tomorrow.

Hull: Prescott; Smith, Hunte, Hallas, Seru; Lester, Tomlinson; Okesene, Stephenson, Temu, Booth, Campbell, Hepi. Subs: Wilson, Nolan, Ireland, Leathem.
