A free marketing seminar run by Keighley Local Enter-prise Agency at Cedar House, Lawkholme Lane, has helped a local business to plan its future marketing strategy.

Attendance at the seminar and customer reaction to a planned relocation has persuaded Colin and Carole Cox, owners of The Camera House at Oakworth, to stay put.

They will continue to supply second hand photographic equipment and other services locally.

Following national interest, as a result of inclusion of illustrations with descriptions and values by The Camera House in the Miller's Collectables Price Guide 1998-1999, a display of collectable equipment for sale will be available.

This side of the business, conducted by mail order, could be expanded if there is a local demand.

The shop celebrates its 10th anniversary in October and has a wide customer base. It offers expert advice, unusual stock, valuations, repairs, film-video transfers and excellent service.

"I look forward to continuing to serve customers old and new,' says Colin Cox.

"Keighley is fortunate both in terms of its location and in having the Keighley Local Enterprise Agency. There is a lot of help available and every reason for anyone, who has a service or product that customers will pay for, to prepare a business plan and have a go. Redundancy and early retirement can be turned to advantage and can prove the spur to a whole new life," he says.

"I would recommend anyone thinking of starting or running a business to contact Keighley Local Enterprise Agency for information, support and training,' says Carole Cox.

The number to contact is 01535 607775.

Marina Jovanovic, the Agency's Business Service Manager, says: "The Marketing Seminar is always well received as it is in an area that people running small businesses need advice and support with.

"Both Colin and Carole contributed significantly during the seminar, and the people who had not been trading for long appreciated their input. The seminar enables people to become more focused resulting in them having a defined marketing plan.

"This seminar is one of a programme of seminars run to help people who are already in business and for those who need extra support.

"There is an opportunity to see one of the Business Advisors on a one-to-one basis,' she says.
