One of the UK's most go-ahead label printers has demonstrated its will to excel by winning accreditation as an Investor in People. SA Labels Ltd, of Oakworth, which employs 55 people, gained the distinction after more than two years of work in close collaboration with Bradford and District Training and Enterprise Council.

Investors in People (IiP) is a national standard for the management of training and development. Its stringent terms demand that firms routinely assess the skills of every employee and provide training to ensure each individual fulfils their own potential, as well as the requirements of the job. SA Labels managing director Jonathan Hutton says: "Investors in People is another stage in the development of our quality culture. A skilled and flexible workforce is essential if we are to continue to provide the best possible service, both in terms of technical proficiency and the way we look after our customers."

The company has also shown the way in technical development by becoming the first label printer to introduce a revolutionary system for printing foil onto labels without the use of heat.
