LLoyd Kellett returned after nine days racing in Ireland where he finished 71st out of 165 riders.

Competitors from nine nations, including Estonia and South Africa took part in the 781-mile FDB Milk Race and Lloyd, who was riding for the British fire service team was astonished by the size of crowds following the event - and nine days without rain.

The Bronte Wheelers/ McManus and Poole rider was also pleased with his performance on the longest race of his career and would have finished higher but for two punctures at critical points and having to to ride with a cold for three days.

Clubmate Steve Grange won the 53K road race at Sharlston near Wakefield last week, and the points moved him up into the 2nd Category.

Nigel Bedel travells to Holland to take part in the European Police three day road race this weekend.
