Oakworth batted first in thrill-a-minute top of the table clash with Embsay.

The Keighley side batted first and made 180-9 with Steve Lilley 68 and skipper Nigel Lockley 31 as John Metcalfe claimed 5-54. The Shires Lane side were struggling until Stephen Speak and Chris Davies got to work. But they were left wanting 13 off the last over.

Davies plundered a six and then perished on 56 going for another big hit.

The last ball arrived with four wanted. This proved to be a no ball, so still three wanted. they could only manage a single as Oakworth triumphed by one run.

The win puts Oakworth two points clear of Carleton who take over second spot from Embsay following their emphatic win at Gargrave. Batting first the villagers pillaged 224-3 with Peter Wrathmell 102no to go with Martin Windle's 58. The home side could only manage 65 in reply.

Foulridge and Sutton are joint fourth after Sutton batted first and were restricted to 102. Chris Isherwood 6-16 and Gary Williams 4-23 claimed the wickets as Sutton took victory.

Haworth are sixth following their big win over Cowling. The Bronte side accumulated 244-7 thanks to Stuart Ratcliffe 72, Trevor Christian 37, Mark Price 36 and Duncan Marsden 33. The visitors could only manage 110 in reply as Price took 7-33.

Bradley's batsmen found their scoring touch as they made 207-8 at Pendle Forest, Andrew Tiffany making 48no, Eddie Drake 41 and Neil Robinson 40. In reply the Fence side were dismissed for 102, Tim Rudden claiming 6-31.

Upper Wharfedale dragged themselves out of the bottom two in fine style. They blasted 235-3 off Cononley's attack at Wood Lane. Ken Holme scored a fine 86, Paul Drinkall 56no and Glen Harrison 46. The visitors had battled their way to 162-6 when the overs ran out. Mark Iveson making 52.

Thornton are the only senior side with a 100 per cent record. They head the Second Division by five points after second placed Long Lee slipped up.

The West Craveners made a fine 200-7 at home to Keighley Tech. Mark Procter in the runs again with 60. The Rose Cottager's reply closed on 103 as Paul Tilbury took 4-12.

Long Lee travelled to Chatburn and were restricted to 124-8, Jan Haider scoring 45. Steve Procter with 49 led the six wicket victory charge.

Barrowford are joint second following their exciting win at Sandylands. They made 159, Graham Lambert top scoring on 61 as Shaun Williamson took 5-44. He then top scored in the reply with 49 as Nick Williamson made 39. Sadly Skipton CI fell just six runs short of the target.

S Gibbs 54 helped Barnoldswick III to a creditable 164, S Filkin taking 5-49 and Lance Hall 3.45. This proved to be no problem to Glusburn who strode to victory by eight wickets, Matt Lloyd making 66no, Darren Ideson 35 and Mark Tatham 33.

Paul Taylor 46 and Colin Bottomley 42 helped Ingrow St John's to 159 at Morton, Paul Singleton taking 5-19. Visitors Airedale then claimed the points by four wickets with Ian Singleton 47 leading the way.

J Nelson's were scuttled for 48 at home to Haworth West End. The visitors sauntering home by nine wickets.

Oakworth and Thornton lead the Third Division. The Cure Hill side visited Embsay and the game, like that between the senior sides went to the very last ball. The home side rattled up 194-5 thanks to a splendid knock of 72 from Paul Barwick. A crucial knock of 23no by the vastly experienced Brian Pennington that nicked the points for Oakworth with the last pair at the wicket, the winning run being a bye off the last ball.

Thornton rattled up 197-5 at home to Sutton, Barry Grave scoring 97. David Sharples took 5-68 to restrict the visitors to 154-9.

Upper Wharfedale move into third spot after routing Haworth West End at Wood Lane. The Bronte side were brushed aside for a paltry 39 with Stuart Whyte taking 6-20. In reply Jason Waddington 22no and Speedy Carlisle 20no secured the points for the Dalesmen by nine wickets.

A Winthrop and Dave Suter both scored 37no and put on an unbeaten 80 for the sixth wicket as Skipton CI posted 189-5 at Barrowford. In reply Neil Earnshaw with a fine 107 saw the red rose side to the points.

Bradley entertained Pendle Forest and lost by 23 runs. The Fence made 175-5. In reply Bradley made 152.

Golden oldie Frank Rowell made a fine 69 as Haworth made 161 up at Long Lee, Danny Wood taking 4-38. Wood then scored 36no to go with Dean Baldwin's 37 and Buster Bailey's 32no as the home side romped to a six wicket win.

They have done it again! Carleton maintained the only 100 per cent record in the lower divisions when they recorded another victory, this time at the expense of visitors Gargrave, who were dismissed for just 57, Martyn Cox scoring 31 of those as Andy Haigh took 7-15, Peter Howard 29no leading the villagers to a fine nine wicket win. (At the time of writing the results of the Drug Squad tests have not been received!)

Four points behind are Cowling who recorded a fine 53 run victory at home to Chatburn. Richard Cleaver just missed out on a century with 99no as the home side made 219-4, Ben Thurston scoring a fine 50. In reply the visitors were doing well at 145-4. Then three run outs changed the situation and they struggled to 166-9.

Glusburn's Phil Taylor with 42 and 3-13 played a big part in their narrow seven run victory over visitors Pendle Forest III. The home side struggled to 109 with Richard Parkin scoring 30 as Mark Vickerman took 6-33 which included the hat trick. Paul Hargreaves scored 25 as the Fence side fell agonisingly short of their target.

John Tatham followed his fine Cowling Cup knock with a splendid 101 as Cononley smashed 223-4 off J Nelson's attack James Calvert also made 42. In reply Tony Stafford made 76 as the red rose side made 156-8, Matt Town taking 3-53.

Chris Preston 64, Bernard Swarbrick with a swashbuckling - yes swashbuckling - 58 and Tony Cocker 47 helped Foulridge to an impressive 238-7 at home to Keighley Tech. In reply Les Horner made 72 as they made a very creditable 188, Nigel Hill taking 6-50.

Finally in the Keighley derby Airedale pulled off a fine eight wicket win over visitors Ingrow St John's. The Saints batted first and made 170-5 with Ramzan scoring 46. In reply Tim Crossley 71no and S McGarry 50 secured the points.
