THE boys are certainly keeping things exciting for the fans - but I for one would prefer a little less excitement in my life.

After a scrappy start we defended well and played quite well in the first 25 minutes of the second half , but for the third week in a row they went to sleep and let a side get back in touch when they should have been dead and buried.

We ended up scrapping for a game which we should have won easily.

The pleasing thing is that when they came off the lads knew they hadn't played well, and just winning matches is no longer good enough for them. They want to play well and win well, which is a good sign for the future.

SUNDAY'S game against Whitehaven is a big game and there will be a lot who remember what they did to us in Cumbria earlier this year.

Believe me the lads are determined to make sure that doesn't happen again, we have a completely new look side which should be able to give a big team like Cumbria something of a shock.

Now we have a few really big boys to toughen up the pack, and there won't be many men fancy meeting Lee Hansen and Adam Fogerty head-to-head. But although Foggy had kept fit since 'retiring' it will take him a week or two to get back to full match fitness.

One thing is for sure we will now be probably the most exciting outfit in the First Division and everybody else will be looking over their shoulders.

ADAM will be a big asset, not only on the field, but also in the dressing room. There is already talk about bringing movie star Samantha Janus - who starred with him in the film version of 'Up and Under' - to the club.

I don't know what the lads' wives will think of the idea, but I've heard a whisper that a whip round is being organised if she needs a 'transfer fee.'

THE one thing I really want this Sunday is a big crowd to give the team their backing.

Adam remembers the noise from the terraces when he was here with St Helens - and I would hate him to be disappointed when he pulls on a Cougar shirt.
