A blaze in a rubbish bin in the yard at Eastwood First School on Sunday was caused deliberately, say firefighters.
They say it was fortunate that the bin was near the Victoria Avenue gates rather than near the school building where it could have caused a more serious incident.
A crew from Keighley fire station broke into a first floor flat above a hairdressers' salon in Church Green on Monday when water began to come through the ceiling. A leak under the sink had caused the problem. The firefighters turned off the water supply and the damage was kept to a minimum. A team from Keighley also assisted colleagues from Bingley when a fire broke out at DBL Plastics, Bingley around 5am on Tuesday. The building was smoke logged.
